The neighborhood rises from Sunset Boulevard into the Santa Monica Mountains. From our side of the freeway, the trip is short in distance but depends heavily on traffic at the Sunset interchange.

The East Gate and West Gate entrances
Two old gateways on Sunset open onto a tangle of curving residential roads. Knowing which one you use spares us a U-turn on lanes where there is barely room for one.
