Place a simple appliance thermometer on a shelf in the troubled zone, close the door and read it a few hours later. If it agrees with the display, the zone is truly warm; if it disagrees, the sensor becomes a suspect.

Listen at each zone
With the door closed, put your ear near the upper and then the lower section. A fan that runs in one zone and stays silent in the other deserves a mention on the phone.

Check the rear and the vents
Shine a flashlight toward the back of each zone. Bottles pressed against the rear wall or a vent blocked by a case of wine can starve that zone of air.

Look at the door seal
Trace the gasket with your fingertips. A torn corner or a spot where the door does not pull tight lets warm air into whichever zone sits behind it.

Why is one zone of my dual zone wine cooler not cooling?
When one zone warms and the other holds, the cause is usually something that serves only that zone: its fan, its temperature sensor, or the airflow path or damper that feeds it, depending on the design. A blocked vent or a changed setting can mimic a fault, so check those first.
